Fire Pit FAQ
What kind of fire pit should I buy?
The right fire pit depends on how you use your backyard. Wood-burning pits give you the authentic crackle and ambiance most people are after. Gas and propane options are cleaner and easier to start, but trade some of that raw experience for convenience. We carry both so you can choose what fits your gather.
Where should I place my fire pit?
Keep at least 10 feet of clearance from your home, fence, or any structure. Avoid placing directly on wood decks — use a fire-resistant pad underneath. A level, open area away from overhanging trees is ideal.
Can I cook on my fire pit?
Yes — on a wood-burning fire pit with the right grate or cooking accessory. Gas fire pits are designed for ambiance, not cooking. If you want to do both, go wood-burning and grab a grill grate to fit.
What's the best way to keep my fire pit looking good?
Cover it when it's not in use and keep water out of the burner if it's gas. For wood-burning pits, clear the ash regularly so it doesn't trap moisture and rust the bowl. A quality cover and a little routine care will keep a luxury fire pit looking sharp for years.
